Join a compassionate and dynamic behavioral health team as a Behavioral and Mental Health Technician. Responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centered support to individuals receiving crisis services in urgent recovery and stabilization units.
• Create a calm, respectful, and supportive environment for individuals entering crisis services.
• Observe individuals for changes in behavior, mental status, physical condition, or safety concerns and promptly report observations to the clinical team.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living and basic personal care needs when appropriate.
• Support nurses and clinical staff with routine care activities within training and competency scope.
• Help with admission, discharge, and movement of individuals throughout the crisis services environment.
• Offer ongoing reassurance, emotional support, and redirection to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health symptoms.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to ensure safety and reduce escalation.
• Conduct safety observations and respond promptly to potential safety concerns in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Assist with therapeutic activities, structured programming, and recovery-focused interventions.
• Complete accurate and professional documentation in electronic health records and communicate effectively during shift handoffs and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the crisis unit, ensuring infection prevention and emergency procedures are followed.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide integrated crisis services.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, crisis services, inpatient psychiatric care, or related settings preferred.
• Certifications preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), or Certified Medication Aide (CMA).
• Depending on the level, certifications such as CNA, RBT, CMA, and additional experience in crisis stabilization are advantageous.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and adaptability to changing situations.
• Must successfully complete training, orientation, and ongoing education related to crisis intervention and organizational policies.
