RN – Psych & Mental Health
Location: Big Spring, TX
Schedule / Job Type:
Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 8:00 AM) | Alternating 36/48-hour weeks (3×12 or 4×12 shifts) | Every Other Weekend
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care on an Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health unit with a 1:8 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor, assess, and document patient status in a psychiatric care environment
May float to the Emergency Room or Medical/Surgical unit as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
Maintain compliance with all required clinical documentation and facility protocols
Required Qualifications:
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — license must be in hand at time of submission
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
Nursys verification required at time of submission
SSN RTO required with submission
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
Candidates must live more than 110 miles from the facility to be eligible — locals are not accepted
Clinicians must be available to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or have a plan in place for completion within that timeframe
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
Background in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or related specialty
Experience floating to Emergency Room or Medical/Surgical settings
