Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen collection and patient information.
• Perform specimen processing and handling responsibilities in both clinical and forensic settings when required.
• Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, promoting trust and confidence.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety standards.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume environment, demonstrating excellent customer focus and communication skills.
• Travel to multiple locations as needed, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites, with a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.

Required Skills

• Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills to explain procedures and build rapport with patients.
• Excellent organization and record-keeping capabilities.
• Error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license if applicable.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred; in California, Nevada, and Washington, certification is required.
• Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, is required.
• Experience in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
• Travel up to 100% may be required with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
