Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and handling.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen collection.
  • Create a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and demonstrating professionalism with patients.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, professional work environment.
  • Perform daily duties independently and efficiently under the supervision of the area supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to provide quality, error-free blood draws in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and team members.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience.

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
