Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients of various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric individuals, following established procedures
- Prepare specimens accurately for lab testing
- Provide patient care in a professional and compassionate manner, building trust and confidence
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of specimen collection and processing
- Ensure a safe and professional environment for patients and staff
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and focus on process excellence and confidentiality
- Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
Required Skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, with experience in pediatric and geriatric specimen collection
- Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Effective communication skills to explain procedures and build rapport with patients
- Keyboard/data entry experience
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
- A minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than one year preferred
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate punctuality, and stay for entire scheduled shifts; excessive tardiness or absenteeism is cause for termination
- Home city and commute time within 20-25 minutes of the worksite must be listed on the resume
