Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing accurately and efficiently.
- Explain procedures to patients to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all collected specimens and related activities.
- Perform specimen processing and contribute to a safe, professional environment.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and focus on process excellence while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Ensure timely completion of daily tasks and compliance with safety standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Strong attention to detail to perform error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
- Effective communication skills for patient interaction.
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than one year preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is a plus.
- Must list home city and commute time on resume, ideally within 20-25 minutes to the worksite.
- Reliable transportation is essential for daily commute; personal vehicle preferred over rideshare or public transit.
- Flexible availability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to performing all duties accurately and efficiently.
