Overview
Join a leading healthcare organization as a Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in specimen collection for laboratory testing. Responsibilities
- Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of blood and urine specimens
- Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens accurately and efficiently
- Observe and collect urine specimens from patients, including observed and supervised collections
- Identify patients correctly following departmental policies before specimen collection
- Properly label, document, and prepare specimens for shipment
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and compassionate interaction with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
- Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population
- Follow all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and HIPAA guidelines when handling specimens
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist with order processing and office supply management as needed
- Inform supervisors of any unusual problems, low shift volume, or procedural deviations
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience
- Strong customer service skills with verifiable track record
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Strong computer skills, including managing multiple programs, email, and reports
- Fast, accurate data entry
- Effective communication skills to interact clearly and confidently
Additional Skills & Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Physical capability to perform activities such as walking, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting
- Venipuncture certification or equivalent experience required
- Experience in observing urine collections is preferred
- Scheduling flexibility to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Work in a clinical setting near Hillsboro or similar region
