Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws from patients in accordance with established procedures, ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, maintaining proper documentation and records.
  • Create a trustworthy environment by explaining procedures clearly, fostering patient confidence.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment, adhering to confidentiality and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Accurately record and manage patient data, and complete required documentation.
  • Support organizational goals by providing timely and error-free work, especially in fast-paced settings.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in phlebotomy, with the ability to draw blood accurately and safely from pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Strong organizational and data entry skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills to foster a positive patient experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic keyboard and data entry proficiency.
  • Reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival and departure from the worksite.

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience is required; over one year preferred.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be available to work whenever scheduled, arriving on time and staying for the entire shift.
  • Must list home city/commute time to the site within 20-25 minutes on resume.
