Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities:

  • Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established protocols.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing ensuring accuracy and proper labeling to maintain specimen integrity.
  • Create a welcoming and trusting environment for patients by explaining procedures clearly and professionally.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all samples and procedures performed.
  • Adhere to safety and confidentiality standards to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient experiences.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric and geriatric specimen collection.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient keyboard and data entry skills to accurately document procedures.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to foster positive interactions with patients and staff.
  • Ability to perform high-quality, error-free work in a demanding environment.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Experience working in retail or service environments with direct patient interaction.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Availability for weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime shifts as needed.
  • Certifications: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in some states).
  • Physical ability to perform blood draws and move equipment as necessary.
