Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab – Phlebotomist to join a well-established clinical setting in the region. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with patients, draw blood samples, and contribute to accurate lab testing in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations
- Prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure specimen labeling accuracy in presence of the patient
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Create a trusting and professional environment for patients, explaining procedures clearly and confidently
- Follow safety protocols and organizational policies, including confidentiality and error prevention
- Perform incidental specimen processing duties as needed
- Travel between multiple locations and cover scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours
Required Skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience drawing blood from pediatric and geriatric patients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Accurate keyboard/data entry skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver license and a clean driving record, if applicable
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
- 1-3 years of direct phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections
- Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
- Keyboard/data entry experience advantageous
- Flexible schedule with availability for weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Ability to commute within 20-25 minutes to the worksite
