Lab – Phlebotomist

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab – Phlebotomist to join a well-established clinical setting in the region. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with patients, draw blood samples, and contribute to accurate lab testing in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations
  • Prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures
  • Verify patient demographic information and ensure specimen labeling accuracy in presence of the patient
  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Create a trusting and professional environment for patients, explaining procedures clearly and confidently
  • Follow safety protocols and organizational policies, including confidentiality and error prevention
  • Perform incidental specimen processing duties as needed
  • Travel between multiple locations and cover scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours

Required Skills

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience drawing blood from pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Accurate keyboard/data entry skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver license and a clean driving record, if applicable

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
  • 1-3 years of direct phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections
  • Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
  • Keyboard/data entry experience advantageous
  • Flexible schedule with availability for weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Ability to commute within 20-25 minutes to the worksite
