Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety protocols.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation to maintain accuracy and avoid errors.
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment that upholds company policies and safety standards.
• Record and document all procedures and maintain accurate records in compliance with organizational requirements.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, ensuring they understand procedures to foster trust and confidence.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating organizational skills and adaptability to a dynamic workload.
• Participate in training and perform duties across multiple locations as needed, including patient service centers and clinical offices.

Required Skills

• Proven phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate openly and professionally with patients and team members.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure specimen integrity and accurate documentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Proficiency with keyboard and data entry tasks.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, with experience in clinical and diagnostic settings.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Experience working in a patient service center environment is highly preferred.
• Must be flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, covering multiple locations.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if traveling between sites.
• Ability to make decisions based on established procedures, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
