Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients while following established practices and procedures
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing with accuracy and attention to detail
- Explain procedures to patients to create a trusting and comfortable environment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected samples
- Ensure a safe, professional, and clean environment at all times
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive image to patients and staff
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties as required
Required Skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
- Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Keyboard and data entry proficiency
- Effective communication skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred
- Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus
- Must be flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
- Reliable transportation to the worksite is essential (personal vehicle preferred; ride-sharing or public transportation not acceptable)
- Candidate must be within 20-25 minutes of the worksite and able to commit to scheduled shifts
- Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to staying for entire shifts without excessive absenteeism or tardiness
