Responsibilities
- Draw blood specimens from patients in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner following established procedures
- Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing according to protocol
- Build trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures clearly and professionally
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimen collections
- Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to process excellence and confidentiality
- Ensure a safe and professional environment for patients and staff
- Perform daily tasks independently under the supervision of the area supervisor
Required Skills
- Proven ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Keyboard and data entry proficiency
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Minimum of 6 months direct phlebotomy experience required
- Over 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred
- Keyboard/data entry experience required
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
- Reliable transportation to the worksite within 20-25 minutes
- Must list home city/commute time on resume
- Must be able to work during scheduled shifts and remain for the entire shift with punctuality
