Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and procedural standards.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
  • Explain procedures to patients to create a comfortable and professional environment, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties confidently and safely, adhering to all established practices and procedures.
  • Create a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience.

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over 1 year preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to the worksite, with a commute time within 20-25 minutes.
  • Must be flexible and available for shifts that include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to stay for entire scheduled shifts without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
