Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and procedural standards.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
- Explain procedures to patients to create a comfortable and professional environment, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
- Perform phlebotomy duties confidently and safely, adhering to all established practices and procedures.
- Create a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Keyboard and data entry experience.
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over 1 year preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Reliable transportation to the worksite, with a commute time within 20-25 minutes.
- Must be flexible and available for shifts that include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to stay for entire scheduled shifts without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
