Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients accurately and safely, including pediatric and geriatric populations
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures and protocols
- Verify patient identity and maintain confidentiality while establishing a trusting environment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen collection and processing activities
- Follow safety standards and maintain a professional, clean, and organized work environment
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence in daily tasks
- Work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to staffing needs, including weekends and holidays
- Communicate clearly with patients and team members to ensure quality care and service
Required Skills
- Ability to perform error-free, high-quality phlebotomy in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
- Keyboard and data entry experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over 1 year preferred
- Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
- Candidate must have reliable transportation and live within a 20-25 minute commute to the worksite
- Must be punctual, reliable, and committed to consistent attendance
