Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients using established phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm accurate labeling.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment prioritizing patient confidentiality and safety.
- Communicate procedures clearly and empathetically to patients to create a comfortable experience.
- Accurately record and maintain required records and documentation related to specimen collection.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, safety protocols, and dress code requirements.
- Support a positive image of the organization by demonstrating professionalism and excellent customer service.
- Travel between multiple locations as needed, including patient service centers and in-office mobile phlebotomy locations.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
- Basic keyboard and data entry experience.

Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Mental agility to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
- Availability to travel between multiple locations and cover scheduled shifts with minimal notice.
