As a Phlebotomist with us, you will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect high-quality blood samples via venipuncture and capillary methods for patients of all ages.
  • Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of the patient.
  • Explain procedures to patients to promote comfort and cooperation.
  • Prepare and process specimens according to established laboratory protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of collections and patient information.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of phlebotomy equipment.
  • Respond to urgent needs or special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Support a positive, professional environment by demonstrating excellent customer service and teamwork.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of three years of direct phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Strong proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood draws.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for specimen labeling and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and confidently.
  • Knowledge of lab safety procedures and confidentiality protocols.
  • Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training background.
  • Certified Phlebotomist credential (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Bilingual skills to serve diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training or certification in phlebotomy strongly preferred.
  • At least three years of professional phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience working with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, reliable transportation to various locations.
  • Ability to travel as needed and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks required for blood collection.
  • Reliable transportation, as drops-offs or public transit are not permitted.
  • Availability within a 20-25 minute commute to assigned work locations.
  • A strong commitment to excellent customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Successful candidates must pass background checks and adhere to all safety and health policies.
