Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and-label specimens accurately, ensuring proper identification and safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain thorough documentation of collected specimens and related records.
- Create a trusting and professional environment, explaining procedures clearly to patients and addressing any concerns.
- Travel between multiple sites to provide phlebotomy services as needed, maintaining punctuality and reliability.
- Adhere to all safety, confidentiality, and organizational policies while performing duties.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in phlebotomy, ideally 1-3 years, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform accurately in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with data entry and record-keeping.
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities efficiently and independently.
- Reliable transportation is essential; being dropped off or using rideshare services does not meet requirements.
- Recent phlebotomy experience with mobile or outpatient settings strongly preferred.
