As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will be the frontline ambassador for patient service, traveling between facilities to collect blood specimens efficiently and safely. Responsibilities:
- Draw high-quality blood specimens from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, including capillary collections.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify patient identity through demographic confirmation and obtain patient signatures after specimen collection.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment, adhering to all health and safety policies.
- Accurately record data, including patient information and collection details, maintaining meticulous documentation.
- Effectively communicate procedures to patients to foster trust and ease any anxiety.
- Travel between multiple clinical sites as scheduled, ensuring punctuality and reliability.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence while respecting confidentiality and patient privacy.
- Adapt to changing priorities and cover various locations with minimal notice, maintaining professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Ensure complete compliance with all policies, including safety procedures, dress code, and patient confidentiality standards.
Required Skills:
- Proven phlebotomy experience (1-3 years), including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate openly and effectively.
- Excellent blood collection skills, confident in both venipuncture and capillary techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Proficiency in data entry and record keeping.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Certification in phlebotomy from an accredited program.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training background.
- Experience working in a Patient Service Center or similar healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of applicable state-specific regulations (e.g., California, Nevada, Washington).
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, especially handling diverse patient populations.
- Prior experience in mobile or multi-site phlebotomy roles is a plus.
