Lab – Field Laboratory Representative

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of urine specimens
  • Collect urine specimens from patients, following proper identification procedures
  • Conduct observed and/or supervised specimen collections as required
  • Label and document specimens accurately and prepare them for shipment
  • Demonstrate customer service and compassion during patient interactions
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
  • Follow Universal Precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens
  • Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
  • Report low volume shifts, issues, or procedural deviations to the supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment at all times
  • Assist with office supply and order processing as needed

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • Previous experience in specimen collection or similar clinical roles preferred
  • Must wear solid color medical scrubs and closed-toe shoes
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, 25 hours per week
  • Reliable transportation to worksite in Portland, ME
  • No specific licensure or certification required; training will be provided as needed
