Entry Level Phlebotomist

Overview

Responsibilities

– Collect blood and specimen samples from patients following established protocols – Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, creating a comfortable environment – Assist with patient check-ins via kiosks or handheld devices – Maintain accurate records of specimen collection and related documentation – Support lobby operations by helping with patient check-ins and providing excellent customer care – Aid in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment in both lobby and draw room – Assist with breaks and staffing coverage as needed, ensuring smooth daily operations – Communicate effectively with patients about procedures and address their concerns with care and confidentiality

Required Skills

– Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle patients with care and compassion – Basic keyboard and data entry proficiency – Ability to follow established specimen collection protocols – Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor – Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to various task needs

Additional Skills & Requirements

– High school diploma or equivalent required – 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience (retail, home health aide, etc.) – Phlebotomy experience required, even if just through an internship or externship – Reliable transportation to the worksite (personal vehicle preferred; public transportation may not be reliable) – Flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including coverage for breaks and staffing shortages – Availability within a 20-25 minute commute to the facility – Schedule must align with school commitments if currently a student
