What You’ll Do:

  • Greet patients with warmth and professionalism upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist with patient check-in processes, guiding them through self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
  • Answer patient questions, address concerns, and provide clear instructions regarding procedures to foster trust.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the waiting area, ensuring a comfortable environment.
  • Support staffing needs by covering breaks and assisting colleagues in both lobby and specimen collection areas.
  • Perform clinical specimen collection following established techniques, ensuring specimen integrity and patient safety.
  • Process clinical and forensic specimens accurately, adhering to protocols.
  • Manage and maintain required documentation and records with attention to detail.
  • Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity when handling patient information.
  • Promote a positive, professional image contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment by completing daily activities accurately and on time as directed by supervisory staff.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience in retail, healthcare, or similar settings.
  • Proven phlebotomy experience, including familiarity with specimen collection procedures.
  • Strong keyboard and data entry skills for precise record keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage patients and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • High level of customer service skills, demonstrating care, empathy, and patience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience working in a clinical laboratory or medical setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or related credentials.
  • Bilingual abilities are considered a plus in serving diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy training/internship preferred, with hands-on experience essential.
  • Proven experience in a customer service role within healthcare or retail environments.

Other Requirements:

  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including some evenings or weekends if needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist patients physically when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment at all times.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the organization.
  • Certification in phlebotomy is preferred but not mandatory if training is completed.
