Entry Level Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and assist with check-in procedures, including self-service kiosks or handheld tablets
  • Perform blood collection using proper phlebotomy techniques following established practices and procedures
  • Help maintain the safety and cleanliness of the waiting and draw areas
  • Assist with patient break coverage when other phlebotomists are unavailable
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures performed
  • Create a welcoming environment that fosters trust and confidence with patients
  • Support ongoing process improvement and uphold healthcare confidentiality standards
  • Work under the supervision of the area coordinator to complete daily tasks accurately and on time

Required Skills

  • Experience in customer service, preferably with at least 1-2 years of client-facing roles (retail, home health aide, etc.)
  • Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks
  • Ability to handle patients with care and compassion
  • Strong communication skills to explain procedures and create a positive experience
  • Capability to work both in the lobby assisting with check-ins and in the blood draw room

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous phlebotomy experience is required
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute
  • Availability to work scheduled shifts, punctuality, and full-shift adherence are essential
  • Must be willing to work in a professional healthcare environment focused on patient care and confidentiality
  • Schedule flexibility and the ability to assist with breaks as needed
