Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by rooming patients and measuring vital signs.
- Disinfect and set up exam rooms and medical instruments to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Operate equipment such as EKG machines and other point-of-care testing devices.
- Administer injections or treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and assist with procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments and follow up with patients via phone calls.
- Maintain inventories, order medical supplies, and ensure expiration dates are monitored.
- Complete required documentation, including OSHA-regulated forms and other administrative duties.
- Assist providers with various clinical and administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, patient preparation, and vital signs measurement.
- Ability to operate medical and point-of-care testing equipment such as EKG machines.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional medical assisting certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Handling injections, laboratory tests, and patient scheduling experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable working on-site in a healthcare environment.
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate clinical hours, during office hours when facility is open.
