Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers in daily clinical operations, including preparing patients and examining rooms for appointments
  • Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and prepare patients for the provider’s examination
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and performing outpatient procedures, as assigned
  • Ensure clinical areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols
  • Manage patient documentation accurately, ensuring all records are up-to-date and complete
  • Support patient flow throughout the clinic, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all visitors
  • Assist with limited administrative duties as needed, including scheduling and patient check-in/out

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in Medical Assisting and/or graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program, or military equivalent
  • State-specific certification/licensure as required, such as Medical Assistant certification or phlebotomy certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care and confidentiality
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently under pressure
  • Attention to detail and organization skills

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Previous experience working in outpatient or clinical settings
  • Additional certifications in phlebotomy or EKG
  • Bilingual abilities to assist diverse patient populations

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Knowledge of local/state healthcare regulations and practices

Other Requirements:

  • Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • No travel required
  • Must pass in-person BLS test and complete all required screening and compliance documentation
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, assist patients as needed, and perform clinical tasks effectively
