Clinical Medical Assistant

Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in daily clinical operations, including preparing patients and examining rooms for appointments
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and prepare patients for the provider’s examination
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and performing outpatient procedures, as assigned
- Ensure clinical areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols
- Manage patient documentation accurately, ensuring all records are up-to-date and complete
- Support patient flow throughout the clinic, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all visitors
- Assist with limited administrative duties as needed, including scheduling and patient check-in/out
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting and/or graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program, or military equivalent
- State-specific certification/licensure as required, such as Medical Assistant certification or phlebotomy certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care and confidentiality
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently under pressure
- Attention to detail and organization skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience working in outpatient or clinical settings
- Additional certifications in phlebotomy or EKG
- Bilingual abilities to assist diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Knowledge of local/state healthcare regulations and practices
Other Requirements:
- Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- No travel required
- Must pass in-person BLS test and complete all required screening and compliance documentation
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods, assist patients as needed, and perform clinical tasks effectively
