Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

– Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations – Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures – Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected specimens and patient interactions – Communicate procedures clearly to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence – Ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times – Demonstrate leadership behaviors by focusing on process excellence and confidentiality – Perform specimen processing duties accurately and efficiently under supervisor guidance – Maintain compliance with organizational policies and safety standards

Required Skills

– Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections – Ability to work independently with minimal supervision – Strong customer service skills in a clinical or retail environment – Proficient keyboard and data entry skills – Reliable transportation to and from the worksite within the designated commute time – Ability to arrive on time and stay for the entire scheduled shift

Additional Skills & Requirements

– High school diploma or equivalent required – Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington) – Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred – Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than 1 year preferred – Experience in customer service is preferred – Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime – Candidate must have their own reliable transportation and list their home city and commute time on their resume – If currently a student, ensure school schedule does not conflict with shifts
