Emergency Medicine Physician (MD or DO) (Locum Tenens)

Location: Texas

Schedule: Day and night shifts; schedule varies

Position Overview

Emergency medicine coverage in a community emergency department. Providers should be comfortable practicing independently, managing acute and emergent conditions, and working within a shift-based coverage model.

Clinical Scope

  • Emergency department evaluation and management
  • Collaboration with APP coverage
  • Emergency procedures consistent with site capability

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
  • Board certification or board eligibility preferred (Emergency Medicine preferred)
  • Active DEA registered to Texas address if required for the role
  • Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS may be required per site and board status
  • Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify

  • Credentialing timelines vary by site and may include temporary privileges for complete files
