Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood samples using established phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric collections
  • Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in accordance with procedures
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Exhibit professionalism and create a trusting environment for patients during specimen collection
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment following all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform duties independently with minimal supervision while ensuring timely completion of daily tasks
  • Support the organization’s commitment to quality and process excellence in all interactions

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to provide error-free, quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Effective communication skills to interact confidently with patients, team members, and supervisors
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on established procedures

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus
  • 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including working with pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record if travel is involved
  • Proficiency in keyboard and data entry
