Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, in a safe and accurate manner
- Prepare and label specimens according to established procedures to ensure proper lab testing
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy
- Maintain thorough documentation and records of collection activities
- Create a professional, trustworthy environment for patients, fostering confidence and comfort
- Provide coverage at multiple locations, balancing schedules to meet staffing needs
- Adhere to safety protocols, confidentiality policies, and company standards for everyday excellence
Required Skills
- Proven phlebotomy skills with 1-3 years of experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a focus on patient care
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Keyboard and data entry proficiency
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
- Must have reliable transportation to and from various sites; being dropped off or using rideshare services is not considered reliable
- Availability to be on time, maintain punctuality, and stay for entire shifts; excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination
- Floaters must be flexible to cover multiple locations on short notice
