Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures
  • Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
  • Explain procedures to patients to create trust and ease any anxiety
  • Maintain proper records and documentation of collections and patient information
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times
  • Follow confidentiality and safety protocols consistently
  • Perform specimen processing duties as required, adhering to quality standards

Required Skills

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Keyboard and data entry proficiency
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet quality standards
  • Error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than one year preferred
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite; candidates must be within a 20-25 minute commute
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as scheduled
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly valued
