Responsibilities

  • Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, adhering to established procedures.
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected specimens and related information.
  • Explain procedures to patients to foster trust and ensure comfort during specimen collection.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment consistent with healthcare regulations.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Perform daily tasks accurately and timely under the supervision of the area supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Strong customer service skills in a retail or service environment.
  • Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience is required; over one year preferred.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
  • Must be flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
  • Candidate must have their own reliable transportation and be within 20-25 minutes of the worksite.
  • Must be available to work scheduled shifts, be punctual, and complete entire shifts without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
