Responsibilities:
- Draw high-quality blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, adhering to best practices and safety standards.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation in compliance with established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to ensure specimen integrity and accuracy.
- Explain procedures to patients with sensitivity, creating a trusting and comfortable environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment, following all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Accurately record and maintain all necessary documentation, including logs, labels, and records of collected specimens.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient service.
- Perform specimen processing and handling duties in both clinical and laboratory settings based on operational needs.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by adhering to process standards, demonstrating confidentiality, and providing excellent customer service.
- Flexibly support multiple locations, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites, as required.
Required Skills:
- Proven phlebotomy expertise, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
