Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities:
- Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established protocols.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing ensuring accuracy and proper labeling to maintain specimen integrity.
- Create a welcoming and trusting environment for patients by explaining procedures clearly and professionally.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all samples and procedures performed.
- Adhere to safety and confidentiality standards to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a commitment to quality care at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient experiences.
Required Skills:
- Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric and geriatric specimen collection.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient keyboard and data entry skills to accurately document procedures.
- Exceptional customer service skills to foster positive interactions with patients and staff.
- Ability to perform high-quality, error-free work in a demanding environment.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Medical assistant or paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Experience working in retail or service environments with direct patient interaction.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Availability for weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime shifts as needed.
- Certifications: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in some states).
- Physical ability to perform blood draws and move equipment as necessary.
