About Don
I was born in Charleston, SC, and raised in Indiana, but moved to Texas right out of high school. They used to have a bumper sticker that said ” I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could”. I’ve been in healthcare staffing about 17 years now, coming to AMP when Ethika Group joined the team. Been married for 28 years with a daughter and 2 granddaughters. Big sports fan, including baseball and football, obviously following the World Champion Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Also, music is an important part of my life especially 70’s pop and classic rock. As most people who have met me at AMP know by now, I’m a big fan of karaoke, and will meet anyone at Tommy’s Oasis in South Arlington if you’re a fan of karaoke and/or dive bars. Matter of fact, I met my wife when I was running karaoke as a DJ in Fort Worth, right after singing Night Fever by the Bee Gees. (Look up the song, young people – you’ll be amazed). My go to song – Tequila Sunrise by the Eagles. (Once again, look it up). It’s now been a little over a year and a half since I joined the AMP team.
Went to Game 3 of the 1976 World Series. Cincinnati Reds beat the Yankees and swept them in 4 games.
I can name the Bee Gees nine #1 songs in Chronological order.
I was a karaoke DJ for 8 years.
